Aaron Taylor currently works as a Director of Government Affairs for Grant Thornton, LLP. He works directly with Members of Congress, accounting professional standard setters, regulators and other influencers. Aaron’s specific focus is taxes and is a trusted resource to the firm’s partners, clients, and the nation’s legislators – ensuring Grant Thornton’s policy positions are well represented.
Aaron previously worked as for Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-UT) on the Senate Finance Committee helping to organize over 30 hearings on tax policy. During the last quarter of 2011, Aaron was selected as a staffer for the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, also known as the Super Committee, preparing deficit reduction options for senior members of both the House and Senate.
Aaron later worked as an advisor to Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) advising the Senator on a number of issues including banking, budgets, insurance and trade policies.
Prior to beginning his career on Capitol Hill, Aaron worked for a California private equity firm, investing over $120 million in companies throughout the western United States.
Mr. Taylor is a graduate of Brigham Young University and resides with his family in Northern Virginia.
